Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
25th Anniversary Tribute Poster

It’s May the 4th! Happy Star Wars Day!
I wanted to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace in some style with a new poster illustration… So I made this! I really hope you all like it! Many happy returns to #ThePhantomMenace and #MayThe4thBeWithYou Always!

Back in 1999, excited for Episode One and before the official poster by the great Drew Struzan was announced, I hand painted my take on how the poster might look, based on the reference images that were available at the time and what I knew about the film. I sent it into the UK Star Wars magazine and to my amazement they published the art! Upon seeing Drew’s finished art I was stunned to see that we had both put Darth Maul’s eyes at the top of the art along with some other similarities in the composition. 25 years later I have revisited the movie poster with a new piece of art for the 25th Anniversary! #Maythe4thbewithyou Always.
